Why Mental Health Awareness Matters
Mental health challenges affect every workplace.
Each year in the UK, millions of working days are lost due to stress, anxiety and depression, making mental health one of the most significant issues affecting employee wellbeing and organisational performance.
Yet many people still feel uncertain about how to talk about mental health or support a colleague who may be struggling.
Aware helps remove that uncertainty by providing clear, practical knowledge that employees can apply in everyday workplace situations.
What Participants Learn
Participants will develop a stronger understanding of:
- What mental health is and why it matters in the workplace
- Common mental health conditions and their signs and symptoms
- Factors that can influence mental wellbeing
- The impact of stigma and how it affects help-seeking
- How to recognise when a colleague may be struggling
- How to respond appropriately and supportively
- Simple steps individuals can take to maintain their own wellbeing
The course encourages open discussion and reflection, helping participants develop confidence in talking about mental health.
