Aware

Aware is a half-day training programme designed to build understanding of mental health in the workplace and give employees the confidence to talk about it openly.

Suitable for staff at any level, the course introduces the fundamentals of mental health, helping participants recognise common challenges, understand the impact of stigma and develop confidence in supporting colleagues.

By creating a shared understanding across teams, organisations can begin building a culture where mental health conversations feel safer and more constructive.

Type of topics we cover:

  • Mental health and the modern workplace
  • Factors affecting mental wellbeing
  • The connection between physical and mental health
  • Stigma and barriers to support
  • Recognising early warning signs of stress or difficulty
  • Common mental health conditions
  • Alcohol, drugs and mental health
  • Supporting colleagues appropriately
  • Looking after your own wellbeing

Why Mental Health Awareness Matters

Mental health challenges affect every workplace.

Each year in the UK, millions of working days are lost due to stress, anxiety and depression, making mental health one of the most significant issues affecting employee wellbeing and organisational performance.

Yet many people still feel uncertain about how to talk about mental health or support a colleague who may be struggling.

Aware helps remove that uncertainty by providing clear, practical knowledge that employees can apply in everyday workplace situations.

What Participants Learn

Participants will develop a stronger understanding of:

  • What mental health is and why it matters in the workplace
  • Common mental health conditions and their signs and symptoms
  • Factors that can influence mental wellbeing
  • The impact of stigma and how it affects help-seeking
  • How to recognise when a colleague may be struggling
  • How to respond appropriately and supportively
  • Simple steps individuals can take to maintain their own wellbeing

The course encourages open discussion and reflection, helping participants develop confidence in talking about mental health.
